Lani Kosick Ames
Director, Health + Wellness
Lani is the Health & Wellness Director at the Binghamton JCC, where she oversees fitness programs, wellness initiatives, and community engagement in support of a healthy and active lifestyle for all members. She is passionate about creating inclusive spaces where individuals feel empowered to explore their abilities and achieve their personal wellness goals.
A Broome County native, Lani returned to the area in 2023 after 14 years on the Gulf Coast, most recently in New Orleans. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Anthropology from the University of South Alabama, a Master's in Cultural Heritage Management and Digital Curation from Johns Hopkins University, and is a doctoral candidate in Organizational Leadership at Adler University. With over a decade of experience in health and fitness, as well as 15 years in aquatics and over 8 years in non-profits, she has worked extensively in coaching, program development, and community initiatives.
Beyond her professional work, Lani is an avid endurance athlete who competes in long-distance open-water swimming and obstacle course races. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for movement, longevity, and well-being with others, whether through coaching, outdoor adventures, or exploring the world with her two dogs.
